"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."
These words from Proverbs 31:10 are so comforting to me. It
tells me that God values me even above rubies.
Rubies, in their most valuable and natural form, are worth
about $50,000. The lowest price of the ruby is still a whopping $5,000.
But I, as a young lady, am worth more than that. And other
young ladies are worth more than that, too. Jesus has cleansed us with His
love, and that makes us beautiful and priceless. So we need to treat our bodies
like the beautiful things they are. We should walk with confidence. We
shouldn't sell ourselves to people. We should stay pure. When we become impure,
our value drops. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love us any more, but it
means that we are not valuable to him anymore.
One day, in your spare time, you should read Ezekiel 16. It
is supposed to be a figurative story about Jerusalem, but you could take it
literally, too. You should think about how much God loves us, how He cleans us
and makes us beautiful. You should pray and ask God to make you pure and to
remind you of your value every day. And you should remind other girls about
their worth too.
