I am just sitting here cracking up right now and I think I should let you in on why.
So I just watched Meghan Trainor's new music video for her song Lips Are Movin'.
The song itself is pretty catchy. The music video is kinda lame in my opinion--I heard in a commercial on Spotify that she was going to have "some of the top Youtube and Vine stars" in her video, but I didn't recognize anyone in that video except Meghan herself. Also, the creators of the video didn't even try to make it look like Meghan was actually singing--it's way too obvious that she's lip syncing.
But that's not why I'm here.
I was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else mentioned the obvious lip syncing, and I saw a bunch of the usual YouTube stuff: hate. Heavy hate. People hating on Meghan for weight (how freaking juvenile is that?), and for apparently "shaming" skinny girls in a previous song. (Okay...they might have a case there. In All About that Bass, she does kind of insult skinny girls. A little bit.)
But that's not why I'm here either.
After scrolling past dozens and dozens of comments filled with misdirected fury, I stumbled upon a few comments that we were so dumb I burst out laughing. The gist of them? "Omg, this girl is so insulting, saying that all of us guys are liars." HAHAHAHAH. That wasn't even what the song is about. The song is about Meghan's boyfriend, who is obviously cheating on her, and that every time he opens his mouth (or, in this case, moves his lips), he's lying. So the song is talking about one guy. Not every male that every existed.
But these classy, smart, wise, and observant dudes completely mistook the lyrics, and went off about how all men are portrayed as "liars" and "cheaters". Which made me laugh really, really hard. Oh, man. The fact that some people can be so ignorant...and then not even try to cover it up...gosh. Too funny.

She totally lip syncs. She did that song on The Voice, and she tried to talk on the microphone and it wasn't on, and it looked really bad. People really need to cut it out with all the hate comments on YouTube. It's sad really.
