This Month's Spotify Playlist + Recently

AGGGGGGHHHH

FIRST. OF. ALL.

50 FOLLOWERS GUYS?! REALLY?!

Literally, thank you so so so much; I never thought I'd get legitimate followers on this blog who really like it and read it and comment on it and talk about it and share it and, well...HERE YOU GUYS ARE!

I...don't know what to do to thank you. I want to give you guys something but I don't have anything to give right now. But maybe later this year, I'll have a giveaway just for you guys! (No promises though...wow okay I just ruined that exciting last sentence with this disclaimer. *sigh* Celebration over I guess.)

----

Anyway. Let's get hyped back up with this month's Spotify playlist!

And guys--this one might be my best and most favorite one so far. I hardcore love every one of the songs on this list. So without further ado:

(okay maybe I don't "hardcore love" the Ariana Grande song but :/)

A CONSTELLATION OF TEARS ON  YOUR *dramatic pause* LASHES
BURN EVERYTHING YOU LOVE THEN BURN THE *lights match* ASHES

Ahhhh guys FOB is seriously life now like their music feels like a really big hug and I just love it. Also Patrick and Pete are enough reason to at least give them a chance. But My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark just makes me feel like I'm about go into battle which I already know I'm going to win. *aggressively puts on eyeliner* *pokes self in eye* *cries*

THEY'RE DRIVING FAST CARS, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY'RE GOING
IN THE FAST LANE, LIVING LIFE WITHOUT KNOWING

Okay but that acoustic version of Cool Kids is the very first acoustic version of a song I've heard and OH MY GOODNESS NO REGRETS WHATSOEVER Seriously when I first heard that song I almost cried I mean Sidney Sierota's vocals get masked by the auto-tuning and extra instruments in the original version but this acoustic...I mean...just *wipes tear* (how did I soften so quickly between this and FOB?)

SO LET THE LIGHT GUIDE YOUR WAY
HOLD EVERY MEMORY AS YOU GO
AND EVERY ROAD YOU TAKE
WILL ALWAYS LEAD YOU HOME

Speaking of softening...moment of silence for that Paul Walker tribute. I only saw snippets of the other Fast and Furious movies, so I don't have a deep connection to any of the characters, but listening to See You Again makes me feel like I've known those movies all my life and now I need to cry. *actually cries*

AND MAYBE IF I TELL MYSELF ENOUGH
MAYBE IF I DO
I'LL GET OVER YOU

But Ingrid Michaelson though *places hands on hips* HOW COME I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS GIRL'S VOCALS BEFORE. I love Over You (especially since A Great Big World from Say Something are in it) and Girls Chase Boys--just love her lyrics and vocals and "song atmosphere" (that's what I call the way a song makes me feel when I listen to it) and just everything.

AND THERE'S NO REMEDY FOR MEMORY
YOUR FACE IS LIKE A MELODY
IT WON'T LEAVE MY HEAD

Gotta be honest, always thought Lana Del Rey was weird--still do, in fact--but I also have to be honest and admit that, while dark--as implied by the title--Dark Paradise is catchy. Weird, and I don't know what the world it's about, but catchy.

Okay! That's all my fangirling over my playlist. Let me know which songs you like the best from playlist and what your favorite songs were this month!

----

Anyway--on to what I've been doing.

For Memorial Weekend, I first spent the night at my aunts' house and then my friend's house. On Sunday I went to the mall and it was so stinking crowded omg there were literally people everywhere, no matter where you turned. But I still got to take pretty good advantage of the Memorial Day sales--I went to Forever 21, Ambercrombie & Fitch, and Hollister (although I'll be returning the Hollister shirt as I don't really need it). So maybe I'll be slipping my very-mini haul into my next video...*unnecessary suspense*

At my friend's house, I was forced to finally watch Mean Girls...which I still didn't think was that good, even after watching the entire thing. I mean...I just don't get why people think it's so quotable and everything. It kinda sounded like it actually was written by high schoolers. So yeah...not impressed. And now disappointed that I'm no longer in the "no-Mean-Girls-zone" club with June. *sad sigh*

Anyway, looking at my summer, it looks like it'll be a hard one: I'm trying to get in as much volunteering as I can--I've got three things planned in the next two weeks already--so I'll be working hard on that. I'm also gonna be cutting grass and, hopefully, washing cars as my brother and I want to buy a Wii U around Christmastime and we want to already have our money saved up by then. And also I'm like 98% sure that I'll have to be doing Algebra and Spanish 2 right through summer, so that sort of sucks. But I think I can handle it, and it's better than watching Netflix and snacking all summer.

----

So that's it! That's my whole, lengthy post! Once again, let me know what your faves were from my playlist and your fave songs overall this month in the comments. Also let me know what you guys did for Memorial Weekend and what your upcoming plans are for summer! See you guys in my next post!

  1. That Gif. I can't. I love life of the party but is it just me who kind of went into it thinking I'd get something totally upbeat and with some pop vibes to it? My favorite songs this month would have to be total throwbacks. It's songs like higher love, babylon, sam cooke's wonderful world and Tracy Chapman's fast car and talkin' bout a revolution.

    1. Same *rich old lady voice* as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it :P But same, I originally thought Life of the Party was gonna be more upbeat too. I still like it tho :)

  2. So, like, I'm not a huge fan of this type of music, BUT IT IS FABULOUS. ALL OF IT. I just did my chemistry homework to the music and damn, I am SO PUMPED. And I love Lana's Dark Paradise -- used it once for a fanmix for On the Midnight Streets, and never stopped loving Lana's songs.

I haven't got that many fav tunes for this month, since I'm not a huge music fan, like I said and so the only new one I listened to was Bad Blood, and didn't LOVE-love that. Soooo.

  3. First off, CONGRATS ON THE 50 FOLLOWERS! *throws sparkles* Then, I'm listening to the playlist and OH MY GOD. IT'S AWESOME. The song "See You Again" is starting to make me cry, again. *softly cries* NEXT, Malls are always packed and WHAT. YOU WATCHED MEAN GIRLS. WHAT ABOUT THE "NO-MEAN-GIRLS-ZONE CLUB" *cries*
It's fine if you watched Mean Girls. It's not big of a deal. It's your life.

    Maybe. Maybe not.

  6. PLEASE DON'T MENTION "SEE YOU AGAIN." Like, all of my cousins and I cried because of that song because it is SO SAD OKAY. And you haven't heard of Ingrid Michaelson until now? She's ah-mazing! I love her take on Can't Help Falling in Love. xD

On the other hand: oh my gosh, Mean Girls. I had this problem last year of having to watch it, because people kept making references to the movie and I'm like, "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?" The movie is okay. They kind of inflated high school; it's not like that where I live, but my school is the tamest out of all of the high schools in town (or so I've been told), so I can only take that with a grain of salt.

    xoxo Morning

    1. "SEE YOU AGAIN" IS LIKE VIRTUAL DEATH TBH

And yeah I when I watched the movie with my friends her brother kept saying "high school is nothing like that" and I agree; obviously they exaggerated it for comedy's sake but I sort of felt like it was too much. and this coming from kid who does live in a bad school district.

  7. FOB FOR LIFE!!!! You have great taste in music. I adore Echosmith. I met them last year and am hoping to see them again in the fall when they tour with my favorite band.
Also Secrets by One Rebublic. yes. And Marina And The Diamonds. Dude you just have flawless taste. lol.

But Im sorry you didnt enjoy Mean Girls. I love it because really, gossip and mean talk is such a huge issue and it addressed it in a meaningful and yet entertaining way. and I loved Janis Ian. but thats a whole different topic.

    1. FOBBBBB YASSS and thank you so much; the one thing I pride myself on is my taste in music and I love when people agree with me. You are sooo lucky that you met Echosmith; I wish I could've gotten to them before they became so popular.

Yeah everyone likes different types of movies and that's good because wouldn't it be boring if we were all alike?
