I really need to get back into writing--yes, I did used to write!--but I've just been so unmotivated lately. So I want to take a new approach to writing storylines. I mean, who said I have to write stories in a "book format" in Microsoft Word? That might be the "traditional" thing to do, but I want to try something new and weird, so that I can be excited about writing again.
Anyway, the most important thing for me when I'm writing is the characters. I have to have every detail--even the ones that I won't ever use--about my characters figured out before I begin writing. I want to create their appearance, personality, social life, home life, and what their life was like before my story pulled them in as one the main characters. But I need a fun, new way to do this without using boring old Word.
That's where you come in (sort of). I'm thinking of creating blogs specifically for my characters (I know, strange, but just hear me out). I think if I created a blog for the characters, I could write out their daily lives from their point of view, and it would feel much more fun and creative. I could give each character their own "writing tone" and "blog style" and write about their personal lives. It'd be like writing a piece of the story every day, and other people would see it. (Just so you know, I'm only wanting to do this blog thing for two characters, not 40 or anything :P) What do you think? Do you think I should do it? If I did do it, would you read it? Please give me feedback, because I don't want to do it if it's a silly idea! Thanks! :)
